길선주의 신관과 인간관에 나타난 종말사상 분석: 그의 설교집과 『末世學』을 중심으로
An Analysis of Seon-Ju Gil’s Eschatological Thoughts in the Views of God and Human Beings: Focusing on His Sermon Books and Malsehak

종말론이라는 용어는 마지막 일들 혹은 마지막 시간에 대한 성경적 숙고(熟考)와 논리를 가리킨다. 그런데 마지막 일들 혹은 마지막 시간의 특징들 중 필수적인 요체(要諦)는 주 예수 그리스도의 오심과 최후의 심판, 그리고 궁극적으로는 그의 메시야 왕국의 실현이다. 본 논문은 길선주 목사의 설교집들과 『末世學』을 중심으로 그의 신관과 인간관에 나타난 종말사상을 개혁주의 신학 관점에서 분석하려는 데 목적을 두었다. 이 연구를 수행하기 위하여 길선주의 주옥같은 설교들 혹은 책자들 중 주요 1차 자료들로서 1926년에 平壤 東明書館에서 발행한 『講臺寶鑑』, 1941년에 京城 主敎出版社에서 발행한 『吉善宙牧師說敎集』, 그리고 1930년대에 김인서의 「信仰生活」에 게재된 『末世學』 관련 글들을 활용하여 고찰했다. 본 연구 제2장에서는 우선 길선주의 신관에서 시사해주는 다양한 특징적 종말사상들에 대해 깊이 있게 살펴보았으며 <‘하나님의 全能性-審判’의 도식>, <‘하나님의 永能性-新天新地 조성’의 도식>, 그리고 <역사의 종말을 준비하는 삼위일체 하나님의 사역> 등의 내용을 다루었다. 제3장에서는 길선주의 인간관에 나타난 여러 특징적 종말사상들을 중점적으로 조명했으며 <종교의 씨앗으로서의 천국에 대한 종교심(宗敎心)>, <원로신자고양론(元老信者高揚論)>, <하나님의 백성과 사탄의 백성을 분리하는 이분법적 구도>, <원죄와 자범죄>, <하나님의 구원과 인간의 자유의지>, <하나님의 선택과 인간의 자유의지>, 그리고 <하나님이 수행하시는 심판의 당위성> 등을 살펴보았다. 부연하여, 향후 길선주의 종말사상과 관련된 연구가 더욱 확장되어 ‘신관과 인간관에 나타난 종말사상’, ‘구원론에 나타난 종말사상’, ‘기독론에 나타난 종말사상’, ‘시간론에 나타난 종말사상’, ‘인간의 생애에 나타난 종말사상’ 등 다양한 연구로 연계될 수 있기를 기대해본다.
Abstract
The term eschatology means the biblical consideration and logic of the last things or end times. And the essential points of the recurring features of the last things and end of days are the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, the last judgment and the realization of His ultimate Messianic kingdom. This study aims to analyze Seon-Ju Gil’s eschatological thoughts in the views of God and human beings through his sermon books and Malsehak-Related articles from the perspective of reformed theology. In order to achieve this objective, I searched for Gil’s gemlike sermons and books as the important primary sources such as <Gangdaebogam(Pyeongyang: Dongmyeongseogwan, 1926)>, <Seon-Ju Gil’s Sermons(Gyeongseong: Jugyochulpansa, 1941>, <Malsehak-Related articles in In-Seo Kim’s Sinangsaenghwal(1930s), and so on. In chapter 2, I attempted to explain the various specific eschatological thoughts in the views of God such as <the correlation between God’s omnipotence and judgment>, <the correlation between God’s eternal power and the new heaven and earth>, and <trinity God’s pre-work for the end of history>, and so on. In chapter 3, I concentrated on the various specific eschatological thoughts in the views of human beings such as <the religious mind about heaven as a seed of religion>, <the theory of mature Christian>, <the dichotomy between God’s people and Satan’s people>, <original sin and actual sin>, <God’s salvation and human free will>, <God’s election and human free will>, <legitimacy of God’s judgment>, and so forth. In addition, I suggest future extensions of this research into Gil’s other eschatological thoughts such as ‘the eschatological thoughts in the views of God and human beings’, ‘the eschatological thoughts in soteriology’, ‘the eschatological thoughts in Christology’, ‘the eschatological thoughts in the theory of time’, ‘the eschatological thoughts in human life’, and so forth.
