이 연구는 근린의 물리적 환경과 근린 단위 사회적 다양성, 사회자본 사이의 관계를 규명하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 주거 유형과 거주자의 사회·경제적 지위가 다른 네 개의 근린지역을 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하고 SEM 분석을 수행하였다. 주요 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회적 다양성 인지 수준이 높을수록 근린만족도는 높아지지만 사회적 다양성에 대한 태도나 사회자본에는 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 분석됐다. 그러나 이웃과의 교류가 활발할수록 사회적 다양성에 긍정적인 태도를 갖고 사회자본의 형성에 도움이 되는 것으로 조사되었다. 둘째, 근린의 물리적환경이 사회적 다양성과 사회적 상호작용에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 주민들이 느끼는 근린의 보행환경의 질, 각종 근린시설에 대한 접근성, 동네의 무질서 정도 등은 이웃과의 교류와 근린의 인지된 사회적 다양성에 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라, 물리적 환경 특성 자체로 근린만족도와 사회적 다양성에 대한 태도, 사회자본에 직접적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among neighborhood environments, social diversity and social capital. For this purpose, the questionnaire survey and SEM analysis were conducted on four neighborhoods with different social and economic status. The main results of the study are summarized as follows. First, the higher the perceived social diversity, the higher the neighborhood satisfaction, but it does not affect the attitude toward social diversity or social capital. However, the more active the exchange with neighbors, the more positive attitude toward social diversity and it is analyzed that it helps the formation of social capital. Second, the physical environment of the neighborhood affects social diversity and social interaction. The quality of the neighborhood's walking environment, the accessibility to neighborhood facilities, and the degree of disorder in the neighborhood affect not only the interaction with neighbors and the perceived social diversity of the neighborhood, but also the physical environment characteristics affect social attitudes toward social diversity, and social capital.
