An Analytical Study on the Bunmunonyeogihaebang: Influential relationship and on the Viewpoint of Translation history

The purpose of this study is to analyse constitution and contents Bunmunonyeog- ihaebang and the phases of the times and translator in the light of translation historical viewpoint. Medical book Bunmunonyeog- ihaebang was published and translated in 1542 A.D. by Kim, An-kuk and others. We compared with Bunmunonyeogihaebang and Ganibyeog- onbang. Medical book Ganibyeogonbang was published in 1525 A.D.(republished 1578 A.D.) Bunmunonyeogihaebang was consisted 79 prescriptions and Ganibyeogonbang was consisted 46 prescrip- tions. Two medical books overlapped 32 prescriptions. There were many distinctions two medical books each other -Chinese character notation and (hunmin)jeongeum notation, modifi cation of some part of source text, manner of target text translation. It was necessary to publish and translate Bunmunonyeogihaebang in that time because of epidemic fever disease all over the country. Translator Kim, An-kuk and others were composed of a sort of translation committees. They were an expert on Chinese classics and medicine one another. Bunmunonyeogihaebang was valuable medical book on the viewpoint of Korean translation history.
