Abstract
The purpose of this study was to conduct systematically investigate the effects of sexual health improvement interventions for female cancer patients. As a research method, a systematic review and meta-analysis were used, and randomized controlled trials published by Jan. 19 to Jan. 25, 2023 were searched and selected according to the PRISMA reporting guidelines. The comprehensive effect size was analyzed with the Review Manager version 5.4 program, and the risk of bias (RoB 2) was evaluated. A meta-analysis was conducted on the effects of sexual health improvement interventions applied to female cancer patients. As a result, 5 studies were finally selected out of the total of 2,509 studies, and the effect sizes of sexual health improvement interventions applied to female cancer patients were sexual function 0.31 (95% CI: 0.14-0.49), sexual self-concept 0.40 (95% CI: 0.16-0.64), and sexual relationship 0.32 (95% CI: 0.13-0.50), which were statistically significant. These results demonstrates significant effects of sexual health improvement interventions for female cancer patients, which provides clinical evidence to use the interventions. Therefore, it is necessary to apply the sexual health improvement interventions in clinical settings.
