대학 교양과정을 위한 무용 교과목 개발

Abstract

The vision of dance subjects as liberal arts that the university in the future may have is not wholly new, but rather it is that universities should examine the intrinsic meaning of liberal education and explore what the role of dance subjects is for the university education. In order to put the future vision into practice this study makes the idea and position of liberal education clear and suggests a concrete applicable program about the development and operation of dance subjects for liberal education. For the completion of this program some American and Japanese universities were selected that give much weight to the domain of art in the curriculum of the liberal education course and get the highest evaluation by producing a great many talented men. And then the examples of their operation of the curriculum were examined. It has been found that these universities have not only the firm philosophythat liberal education must be the core of the undergraduate education, but also have the concrete purpose and deepened contents of liberal education. We have to consider three points so that the new program can be materialized. They are as follows: ① The basic idea of the curriculum of the liberal education course of universities should be seen in a fresh light. ② Fundamentally the university education centering on liberal education deepens the high school education. ③ The subjects of universities should assume the form suitable for the university education. This study suggests the concrete applicable program about dance subjects in three aspects. They are as follows: ① the development and characteristic of dance subjects; ② the division of their domain; ③ the way of completing the course.
