메이저리그 투수 경기력 지표와 초구 스트라이크 비율 분석: 2017~2019시즌 마무리 투수를 중심으로

본 연구는 메이저리그 2017~2019시즌 연도별 세이브 순위 상위 30명과 팀별 마무리투수 중 세이브 개수가 가장 많은 30명을 대상으로 마무리투수의 투수 경기력 지표와 초구 스트라이크 비율 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 2017~2019시즌 자료를 수집하고 SPSS 23.0 프로그램을 이용하여 상관분석, 일원변량분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과로는 2017년도에는 초구 스트라이크 비율과 볼넷, 9이닝당 볼넷, fWAR이 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계를 나타냈고, 2018년도에는 9이닝당 볼넷과 볼넷이 2019년도에는 9이닝당 볼넷과 볼넷 그리고 FIP와 세이브 개수 와 WHIP가 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계를 나타냈다. 2017년도부터 2019년도까지 기록을 합산하여 분석했을 때는 볼넷, 9이닝당 볼넷, fWAR, WHIP, FIP, 세이브 개수, 피출루율, 평균자책점, bWAR이 통계적으로 유의 한 상관관계를 나타냈다. 팀들이 정규시즌에서 기록한 승률에 따른 집단별 3년간 마무리투수 초구 스트라이크 비율은 21~30위 집단이 1~10위, 11~20위 집단에 비해 낮게 나타났다. 마무리 투수가 정규시즌에서 기록한 세 이브 개수에 따른 집단별 3년간 마무리투수 초구 스트라이크 비율은 21~30위 집단이 1~10위, 11~20위 집단 에 비해 낮게 나타났다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the pitcher's performance index and first pitch strike ratio for the top 30 saves by year in the Major League Baseball 2017-2019 season and 30 players with the highest number of saves among closers by team. Data for the 2017-2019 season were collected, and correlation analysis and one-way variance analysis were conducted using the SPSS 23.0 program. As a result of the study, the first strike ratio, walks, walks per nine innings, and fWAR showed a statistically significant correlation in 2017, and walks, walks per nine innings in 2018, as well as walks and walks per nine innings, and the number of FIP and saves and WHIP in 2019. When the records from 2017 to 2019 were summed up and analyzed, walks, fWAR, WHIP, FIP, number of saves, on-base percentage, ERA, and bWAR showed statistically significant correlation with the first strike ratio. The first pitch strike ratio of finishing pitchers for each group for three years according to the winning rate recorded by the teams in the regular season was lower in the 21st to 30th groups than in the 1st to 10th and 11th to 20th groups. The first pitch strike ratio of finishing pitchers for three years by group according to the number of saves recorded by finishing pitchers in the regular season was lower in the 21st to 30th groups than in the 1st to 10th groups and the 11th to 20th groups.
