Abstract

The background of Hanbok was originated from those northern mounted nomadic groups, which was Scythe style Costume Culture.Through the antique records and paintings of tombs bequests hereby describe the original forms of their source of Korean costume in ancient times.Both Men and Women wore Jacket as upper garment with leftsided collars, narrow sleeves to the length of the hip line. As lower garment, they wore the tight Trousers and Kungo(:窮袴)that was attached with gusset. In Headgear, there was Conical Cap(or Pointed Cap), Feathered Cap, and Crown. The motive and method of wearing, materials of them were influenced by Scythe style Costume. On the upper garment bound the leather Belts that was hanged a hook that was shaped of animal form at the end. In ornaments, Scythian Gold Plaques were attached to the fabric in such a way that when they moved with each movement of the wearer.Under the circumstances traditional costume culture of ethnic groups has been facing a crisis of disappearance, which will be a great loss for the country as well as the human beings. For this reason, I emphasize that it is very important to settle upon the position of the Hanbok on the Globalism.
