Abstract
This study examined whether the elderly’s perceptions of self-efficacy and quality of life differ by gender and level of daily life dance participation, and investigated the relationship among these variables. Subjects were 280 elderly (94 males, 186 females) over 60 years old. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, 2(gender)×3(frequency)×2(duration) MANOVA, and correlations. Results of MANOVA indicated that the two-way interaction between frequency and duration significantly influenced to the level of social relationships and physical environments. Elderly’s task, coping, and emotional control-related efficacy were positively related with the subscale of the quality life. These findings suggest that participating in various physical activities regularly can help the elderly to promote their self-efficacy and quality of life.
