이 글은 ‘19세기 서울 우대지역’에서 만들어진 『가곡원류』의 형성 과정과 이후 영향력을 다루었다. 그 결과 다음의 두 가지 사실을 밝혀냈다. 첫째, 『가곡원류』는 우대 지역에서 전승되어 오던 노래들 중에서 다음의 세 종류 노래들을 조직적으로 수집하여 편찬했다. ① 『지음(건)』(19세기 전반)의 모든 작품들, ② 편찬자와 동시대인들의 작품들, ③ 옛 노래들 중에서 유명한 작가 작품들. 이들 작품은 ‘雅趣의 세계’라는 공통점을 갖는다. 둘째, 『가곡원류』는 20세기 초 활자본 가집들 중에서 『가곡선』(최남선 편), 『정선조선가곡』(이해조 편)의 가사에 그대로 전해졌다. 다만 남녀간 애욕을 다룬 일부 작품들이 제외되었을 뿐이다. 이것이 20세기 초 국민문학이 된 ‘시조’의 실체이다.
Abstract
This thesis concentrated on the formation processe and influence of Gagokwonryu(歌曲源流) that had made in Seoul Woodae area in the 19th century. As a result, it found out two facts as follows. First, Gagokwonryu was compiled by systematically collecting following three different types of song among songs that was transmitted in Woodae area. ① Every song of Jieum(Kun)(知音 乾)(in the early 19th century) ② Songs of compilers and contemporaries ③ Old songs of Famous writers. These have the similarities which are 'the world of elegance'. Second, Gagokwonryu was transmitted to lyrics of Gagokseon(歌曲選)(compiled by Choi Nam-sun) and Jeongseon Choeon Gagok(精選朝鮮歌曲)(compiled by Lee Hae-cho) of the early 20th century Printed Poetry collections. Only some songs about passion between male and female was excluded. This is the reality of 'Sijo' which became national literature in the early 20th century.
