Abstract

The most common complaints about structuralism seem to be that it was concepts from other disciplines - linguistics, philosophy, anthropology, psych-analysis, Marxism - to dominate literature. It threatens the reason for being of literary studies by forgoing the attempt to discover the true meaning of a work and by deeming all interpretations equally valid. Because of these complaints, we need to make up for this reading strategy. While structuralist are convinced that systematic knowledge is possible, post-structuralist claim to know only impossibility of this knowledge. Deconstruction denies a dualism and a definite theme. There is no theme, no true meaning. Derrida introduces the ideas like différance, supplement, and dissémination etc. Lacan gives superiority Signifiant over Signified. On the base of de-construction, the meaning of The cat's privacy is delayed. The man wants to meet the girl who has a Cat as a chatting ID. He desires to find her and to enter the Cat's room. But he can't find the way on cat's house, he wonder here and there. After all, he succeed to find the tree where she should promise to wait for him, Then his wife enter the room, he can't help finishing the game whose name is The cat's privacy. Nevertheless de-construction insists no determined meaning, we can find a disguised wish for sweet home and wife's love for him alone. Because modern, cultured man don't speak it honestly.
