사회복지분야에서 자기결정은 실천 윤리와 지침으로써 매우 중요한 개념이다. 본 연구에서는 자기 결정의 개념을 자신에 대한 지식이나 기술, 자기 존중을 토대로 하여 스스로 목표를 정하고 성취해 내는 한 개인의 능력이라고 정의하였다. 미혼모들은 낮은 자존감과 낮은 사회적 지위 등으로 취약한 사회복지 대상자이다. 또한 이러한 특성으로 인하여 자기결정능력에 제한되기 쉽다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 미혼모 보호시설에 있는 미혼모들을 위한 자기결정력 증진 프로그램을 개발하고, 실천하여 효과성을 검증해보고자 하는 것이었다. 집단프로그램의 내용은 자기탐색, 목표설정, 계획, 실행 및 조정으로 구성하였다. 프로그램은 9명(2명 중도탈락)을 대상으로 총 12회기로 진행되었으며, 프로그램의 효과성을 분석한 결과 프로그램 사전과 사후의 자기결정력이 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상되었으며, 프로그램의 내용 및 운영 과정에 대한 평가에서도 긍정적인 평가 내용이 확인되었다. 마지막으로 프로그램에 대한 만족도 평가에서도 전반적으로 프로그램에 대해서 만족하는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
Self-determination is very important concept as a practical ethics and guidelines. A cocept of self-determination is defined by competence which person can set a goal and acquire in the basis of information, skills, and self-respect of himself/herself. Teen parents are weak because of low self-repspect and negative social prejudice. So they probably have low competence of self-determination. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of self-determination skill training on teen parents who live in agency of teen parents. The program developed in this study consisted of four steps: self-exploration, goal setting, planning, action and adjusting. An self-determination skill training program (eleven session) was implemented for nine teen parents(two was dropout). The method of this study is pre and post test control group design and for the testing of effectiveness, Mann-Whitney U test and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test are used. The main result is following. First, according to the Self-determination Student Scale, improvement on the level of self-determination was statistically more significant in the experimental group than in the control group after the self-determination program was applied. Second, there was positive outcome on the satisfaction of self-determination program content and process. Findings from the this study demonstrate that the group program to promoting self-determination had an effect on improving self-determination for teen parents.
