Abstract
Our study analyzed the effects of semi-permanent makeup (SPM) combined with epidermal growth factor (EGF) on the growth of eyebrows in adult women. A total of 21 women aged 20 to 40 years were divided into two groups: the PM group (SPM only) and the PME group (SPM + EGF). We measured eyebrow length, thickness, number of hairs, absorbance of the treatment as well as treatment satisfaction before the procedure, at 4 weeks, and at 8 weeks. After 8 weeks, both groups exhibited an increase in eyebrow length, thickness, and the number of hairs, with no significant difference in the absorbance of the treatment. The PME group had a significantly higher number of eyebrow hairs than the PM group. Furthermore, treatment satisfaction in the PME group showed a tendency to increase over time, particularly regarding the improvement in eyebrow length, thickness, and the number of hairs. Our findings suggest that combining EGF with SPM effectively promotes new hair growth and enhances eyebrow development. Our study provides empirical evidence on the hair growth effects of SPM combined with EGF. Through our data, we emphasize the need for further research to validate the long-term efficacy and safety of SPM combined with EGF as a treatment for the growth of eyebrow hair.
