Abstract
It is necessary to understand the mechanisms and processes of self-purification occurring in natural water systems to decrease the danger by anthropogenic processes. But the contents of self-purification in biology curriculum is not easy to be taught through scientific inquiry process. A Simulation courseware can be appropriate to this kind of topic that is not easy to be taught through scientific inquiry process. It consists of thinking about problem and inquiry activity. Inquiry activity includes the guidance for inquiry process, planning of pollution investigation, result, analysis of result and summary in order. This courseware was programmed with HTML, Java Script and Java Applet considering file size and convenience of programs. It was tested with students and teachers, and surveyed them on it's usefulness and effectiveness.
