고등학생의 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의와 심리적 부적응 : 자기은폐를 매개변인으로

초록

본 연구는 고등학생을 대상으로 사회적으로 부과된 완벽주의를 구성하는 두 하위요인(조건적 수용, 타인의 높은 기준)과 심리적 부적응의 관계를 살펴보고, 이 과정에서 자기은폐의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. ‘조건적 수용’ 요인은 우울, 불안, 적대감 모두와 유의한 정적 상관을 보인 반면, ‘타인의 높은 기준’ 요인은 우울 및 불안과만 관련되었다. 그러나 ‘조건적 수용’ 요인을 통제한 ‘타인의 높은 기준’ 요인은 심리적 부적응과 아무런 관련을 보이지 않았으며, 자기은폐는 ‘조건적 수용’ 요인과 심리적 부적응의 관계를 부분적으로 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 타인의 부정적인 평가를 두려워하는 완벽주의적인 고등학생으로 하여금 스스로의 취약한 부분을 터놓을 수 있도록 돕는 것이 필요함을 시사한다.

Abstract

The present study investigated the relationship between socially‐prescribed perfectionism. It did so in the context of two perspectives, namely, the effects of the high standards and conditional acceptance of other s and the issue of psychological maladjustment in high school students. This study also examined the mediating role of self‐concealment in relationships. The results revealed that the issue of conditional acceptance was related closely with depression, anxiety, and hostility whereas the issue of the high standards of others was associated with depression and anxiety, but not with hostility. However, when controlling for the issue of conditional acceptance, the issue of others' high standards was not significantly associated with psychological maladjustment. In addition, self‐concealment functioned as a significant mediator in the relationship between the issue of conditional acceptance and psychological maladjustment. The findings suggested the necessity for assisting perfectionistic high school students who are vulnerable to others' negative evaluations in disclosing their weaknesses.
