본 연구의 목적은 블루 진에 대한 한국과 중국 여성의 시각적 평가를 실시하고, 그 결과를 비교하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 9개의 자극물을 통해 총 1,440부의 평가 자료를 수집하였으며, 이를 분석하여 다음과 같은 연구 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 요인분석 결과, 실루엣과 색상의 변화에 따른 블루 진의 시각적 이미지의 구성 요인은 한국 여성으로부터 세련성 요인, 신체성 요인, 단순성, 활동성 요인이 도출되었고, 중국 여성으로부터 활동성 요인, 신체성 요인, 단순성 요인이 도출되었다. 둘째, 요인별 실시한 일원배치 분산분석과 Scheffé 검증 결과, 한국과 중국 여성의 시각적 평가에서 나타난 공통점은 블루 진이 스키니, 스트레이트, 벨보텀 실루엣의 순으로 색상에 따라 복잡하고 강렬하고 화려한 이미지의 차이가 크다는 것이다. 즉, 벨보텀 실루엣의 블루 진은 연청, 중청, 진청 모두에서 복잡하고 강렬하고 화려한 이미지를 가지고 있지만, 스트레이트와 스키니 실루엣의 블루 진은 진청에서만 이러한 이미지를 가지고 있으며 연청에서는 다른 이미지를 지닌 것으로 평가하였다. 셋째, 차이점은 한국 여성이 스키니, 벨보텀, 스트레이트 실루엣의 순으로 블루 진은 색상에 따라 세련되고 사고 싶으며 멋있어 보이는 이미지의 차이가 크다고 보는 데 비해 중국 여성은 스키니, 벨보텀, 스트레이트 실루엣의 순으로 블루 진이 색상에 따라 자유롭고 편안하며 활동적인 이미지의 차이가 크다고 본 것이다. 그리고 다리가 길어 보이고 키가 커 보이며 날씬한 이미지에 대해 한국 여성은 실루엣과 색상이 비슷한 영향을 미친다고 평가한 데 비해 중국 여성은 벨보텀, 스트레이트, 스키니 실루엣 순으로 실루엣이 색상보다 더 큰 영향을 미친다고 평가한 점이다. 이처럼 블루 진은 실루엣과 색상 같은 스타일을 결정짓는 디자인 요소뿐만 아니라 한국과 중국 여성 같은 평가자의 국적과 성별에 따라서도 시각적 이미지가 다르게 나타남을 알 수 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to conduct a visual evaluation of Korean and Chinese women on blue jeans and to compare the results. The stimuli are 9 samples: 3 variations of the silhouette and 3 variations of the color. The jeans were evaluated using a 5-point rating scale with 80 Korean and 80 Chinese students taking part. The data was analyzed by Factor Analysis, ANOVA, Scheffé Test and the MCA method. The study results are as follows; 1) According to the Factor Analysis, the components of visual image by the silhouette and the color of blue jeans were classified with 4 factors (sophistication, physicality, simplicity, and activity) from Korean women, and 3 factors (activity, physicality, and simplicity) from Chinese women. 2) As a result of one-way ANOVA and Scheffé verification, the common point in the evaluation between Korean and Chinese women is that blue jeans have a big difference in complex, intense, and colorful image depending on the color in the order of skinny, straight, and bell-bottom silhouettes. In other words, blue jeans with the bell-bottom silhouette have complex, intense, and colorful images in all blue tones, but blue jeans with straight and skinny silhouettes have these images only in dark blue. 3) The difference is that Korean women evaluated blue jeans in the order of skinny, bell-bottom, and straight silhouette, and there is a big difference in the image that looks sophisticated, cool, and purchase intention depending on the color. It was evaluated that silhouette and color have a similar effect on the image that make legs look long, tall, and slim. On the other hand, Chinese women evaluated that blue jeans have a big difference in free, comfortable, and active images depending on the color in the order of skinny, bell-bottom, and straight silhouette. It was evaluated that silhouettes have a greater influence on the image that make legs look long, tall, and slim than color; in the order of bell-bottom, straight, and skinny silhouettes.
