대학생의 가족스트레스, 부정적 정서와 자살생각과의 관계 -자아탄력성의 매개효과를 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 대학생의 가족스트레스, 부정적 정서 및 자아탄력성과 자살생각의 관계를 파악해보며 궁극적으로 가족스트레스 및 부정적 정서와 자살생각에 대한 자아탄력성의 매개효과를 분석해보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 대학생 265명을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 이용하였다. 자료 분석은 기술통계, 상관관계, 구조모형방정식을 통한 경로분석, Aroian 검증을 이용하였다. 본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가족스트레스는 자아탄력성과 유의한 부적 관계를 나타내었고, 부정적 정서도 자아탄력성과 유의한 부적 관계가 나타나 가족스트레스와 부정적 정서가 높은 경우 자아탄력성이 낮음을 알 수 있다. 가족스트레스와 부정적 정서는 자살생각과 유의한 정적관계를 나타내고 있어 가족스트레스와 부정적 정서가 높은 경우 자살생각의 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 자아탄력성과 자살생각과의 유의한 부적 관계가 나타나 자아탄력성이 높은 경우 자살생각도 낮을 수 있음을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 가족스트레스가 자살생각에 유의한 정적 영향을 주는 것으로 나타나, 가족스트레스가 높을수록 자살생각은 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 부정적 정서가 자살생각에도 유의한 정적 영향을 주는 것으로 나타나, 부정적 정서가 높을수록 자살생각이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 자아탄력성이 가족스트레스와 부정적 정서 사이에서 자살생각과의 매개효과를 나타내었다. 즉 가족스트레스가 심각하고 부정적 정서가 높은 상태에서 자아탄력성이 작용하는 경우 자살생각은감소될 수 있다고 하겠다. 따라서 자살생각을 예방하고 감소시키는데 자아탄력성의 의미와 중요성이 강조되어야 하며 이에 대한 자아탄력성향상 및 프로그램 등이 적극 개발되어야 하겠다.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to find the correlation of family stress, negative emotion, ego resilience and suicide ideation, and to explore the mediating role of ego resilience between family stress, negative emotion, and suicide ideation. The subject of the survey was 265 university students. The data were analyzed with frequency, Pearson's correlation and structual equation modeling by SPSS and AMOS. Instruments were McCubbin(1981)'s Family Inventory of Life Events and Changes(FILE), Bradburn(1969)'s The Structure of Psychological well-being, Block & Kremen(1996)'s ego resilence, and Reynold(1988)'s Suicidal Ideation Questionaire. The major findings were as follows; Family stress was positively correlated with negative emotion and suicide ideation, but was negatively correlated with ego resilience. Ego resilience negatively correlated with negative emotion and suicide ideation. Ego resilience mediated the effects of family stress, negative emotion and suicide ideation. Family stress and negative emotion influenced ego resilience and suicide ideation positively. Ego resilience influenced negatively suicide ideation. In conclusion, it is important to intervene university students' suicide ideation through special education program and counseling in order to built ego resilience.
