In this paper, I introduce quantum computation through the lens of audio signal processing using a simple encoding scheme in which each sample is represented using a single qubit. Notions of superposition, logic gates, the Bloch sphere, and block encoding are illustrated through the development of original audio signal processing algorithms drawing inspiration from bit-crushing, wave folding, finite impulse response filtering, and convolutional reverb. Rather than pursuing maximal computational efficiency, the pedagogical aim of this paper is to provide accessible examples that bridge concepts in quantum information and digital signal processing for collegiate musicians and technologists.
