This study aims to examine the academic research trend of dance and to analyze a co-word network in multiple research fields of dance. We selected a total of 6,798 research journals focused on dance from 1964 to 2017, which are registered or expected to be registered on Korea Citation Index (KCI) according to Research Information Sharing Service (RISS). The data was classified into 14 areas of dance academic research, based on the classification table of academic research fields of National Research Foundation of Korea. The results of a content analysis, which is a qualitative research method, a co-ward analysis, and a network analysis showed as follows: First, the academic researches on dance had significantly increased in quantity and quality since 1990. Second, regarding keywords, ‘dance’ was the most widely used keyword and the most significant subject term in dance academic researches. Third, each different subject area was covered with its property within the 14 research areas based on a co-word network of a key term ‘dance’.
