대학생의 스마트폰 중독유형에 따른 온-오프라인 대인관계성향

본 연구는 스마트폰 중독 유형을 구분하고 각 유형 간에 온-오프라인 대인관계성향의 차이를 알아보고자 하였다. 충청북도 및 경상남도의 4년제 종합대학교에 재학 중인 대학생 477명(남 200명, 여 277명)을 대상으로 스마트폰 사용동기 척도, 성인 스마트폰 중독 척도, 대인관계성향 척도를 사용하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 스마트폰 중독유형을 나누기 위해 스마트폰 중독 점수에 따라 중독 집단(고위험 사용자군+잠재적 사용자군), 비중독 집단(일반적 사용자군)으로 나누고 중독 집단을 스마트폰 사용동기 7개 요인을 변인으로 군집분석을 실시하여 3개의 군집으로 분류하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 스마트폰 중독 집단과 비중독 집단에서 온-오프라인 대인관계성향의 차이를 알아보기 위해 차이검증을 실시한 결과 스마트폰 중독 집단은 오프라인에서 동정-수용적, 사교-우호적인 요인이 높았고 온라인에서 경쟁-공격적, 반항-불신적 요인이 높게 나타났다. 스마트폰 비중독 집단은 오프라인에서 지배-우월적, 독립-책임적, 동정-수용적, 사교-우호적, 과시-자기도취적 요인이 높게 나타났고 온라인에서 반항-불신적 요인이 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 스마트폰 중독에 대한 하위유형 분류를 위해 스마트폰 사용 동기에 따라 군집분석을 실시하여 개인적 즐거움을 추구, 게임을 사용, 이용편리를 도모하는 집단을 현실회피 및 감각 추구형, 타인과의 관계를 중시하는 집단을 대인관계지향형, 모든 사용동기가 높고 특별한 목적 없이 습관적으로 스마트폰을 사용하는 집단을 현실대체 만족 추구형으로 분류 하였다. 셋째, 스마트폰중독 집단의 하위유형에서 온-오프라인 대인관계성향의 차이를 알아보기 위해 변량분석을 실시한 결과 3개 군집은 온라인에서 경쟁-공격적, 과시-자기도취적, 반항-불신적인 대인관계성향을 나타냈다. 이 연구결과는 스마트폰의 사용이 많은 대학생을 대상으로 스마트폰 중독 집단을 나누고 온-오프라인 대인관계 성향의 차이를 탐색하여 스마트폰 중독의 예방 및 개입에 기초자료를 제공하였다는 데 의의가 있다. 끝으로 본 연구의 제한점과 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.
Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine differences of on-offline interpersonal relationships in subgroups based on different tendencies of smartphone addiction Towards 477 college students(male 200, female 277) in Chungcheongbuk-do, and Kyungsangnam-do, the self-administered test on the scale of motivations for smartphone usage, smartphone addiction proneness scale for adult, interpersonal relationship scale were filled out. Participants were divided into two groups according to the smartphone addiction score addicted users’ group and normal users’ group. Also, cluster analysis was used to smartphone addiction group in regard with 7 factors of motivation for using smartphones. The results are as follows. First, addicted users’ grouphad sympathic-acceptable and sociable-friendly propensity, and had higher off-line interpersonal relationships than on-line ones competitive-aggressive and rebellious- distrustful propensity was higher in on-line interpersonal relationships than off-line ones Normal smartphone users’ group dominant-superior, independent- responsible, sympathetic-acceptable, sociable-friendly, and exhibitionistic-narcissistic propensity. They also had higher off-line interpersonal relationships than on-line ones However, rebellion-distrustful propensity was higher in on-line interpersonal relationships than in off-lin. Second, smartphone addiction subgroup was classified into escaping and sensation seeking type, relation-oriented type, and substitute satisfaction seeking type with cluster analysis. escaping and sensation seeking type, mainly used smartphones to play games, for convenience, and to pursue personal pleasure. relation-oriented type maintained important relationships with others. Lastly, substitute satisfaction seeking type had high motivations in all purposes and habitually used smartphones without any special purpose. Third, all 3 groups demonstrated competitive-aggressive, exhibitionistic -narcissistic and rebellious-distrustful propensity in on-line interpersonal relationships. The results of this study has its meaning in that it targeted the majority of college students examine differences in on-offline interpersonal relationships by dividing them under the degree of smartphone addiction. These findings ultimately provide the basic data on preventing and intervening smartphone addiction. Finally, the limitations of this study and suggestions for further studies are discussed.
