천안시는 국가지정문화재, 시·도지정문화재, 문화재자료 등 총 60점의 지정문화재를 보유하고 있다. 이 중 66.7%가 유적·건축물과 유물이다. 천안시 문화재의 시공간적 특성을 분석한 결과, 시간적으로 고려시대와 조선시대의 문화재가 가장 많고, 공간적으로는 광덕면의 광덕산 주변과 성거읍의 성거산 주변에 가장 많이 분포한다. 그러나 현재 대부분의 천안시 문화재는 관리가 소홀한 채로 방치되어 있다. 자치행정차원에서 문화재의 가치를 높이고 도시 정체성 확립에 활용할 수 있는 방안 모색이 시급하다. 도시의 올바른 정체성은 지리적 풍토와 역사적, 문화적 자원을 바탕으로 정립되어야 하며, 도시의 올바른 정체성은 도시의 경쟁력에 큰 영향을 미치기 때문이다.
Abstract
There are total sixty items which includes the government pointed cultural assets, local government appointed cultural assets, and cultural assets resources in Cheonan city. The 66.7% of those are ruins architecture and vestiges. Time and spatial analysis of cultural assets in Cheonan city indicates that there are many Goryeo and Choson cultural assets from time view point, while they are widely distributed in Kwangduk and Sunggur mountain area from spatial view point. However, most of Cheonan city cultural assets have been inattentive. It is urgent to develope the policy to raise the value of cultural assets and utilize them for the establishment of Cheonan city identification from the position of the local government administration. A sound city identification should be established based on the geographical, historical, and cultural resources, because it affects the city competitiveness.
