Abstract

The purpose of study is to investigate the applicability of forensical maker in scientific investigations based on growth characteristics and components of amino acids, fatty acids, glycine betaine, and mineral contents of the soil properties by spinach cultivating area for various location of Korea. Based on the results of the analysis of the 16 amino acids and 11 fatty acids in all 10 strains of spinach, Cluster analysis revealed that aspartic acid, methionine, and proline, among amino acids, and linolenic acid (C18:3), myristoleic acid (C14:1), and myristic acid (C14:0), among the fatty acids, were potential components to distinguish between clusters. In addition, the content of glycine betaine was high in the samples cultivated in the coastal area, in relation to K+(spinach) / Na+(soil) forming ratio and in the growing soil. And, the content identification factors of glycine betaine, K+(sp)/Na+(s), calcium (Ca) and silicon (Si), titanium (ti) and vanadium (V) are collected. Therefore, the analysis results associated with the characteristics of the various plant's cultivation environment, areas and the mineral contents by the soil properties confirmed the possibility to utilize the forensic marker function.
