Abstract

In this paper, I introduce the Hungarian National Archive and the documents relatedto South and North Korea in brief. The main section focuses on the Korean artistic circlesfrom the diplomatic documents. With some documents, I tried to introduce rather thananalyze. The documents presently available in the archive can be divided into two generaltypes: 1) official documents on South Korea and North Korea regarding general foreign affairsand administrations; and 2) documents regarding overseas Hungarian officials, especiallythe contents of reports from diplomats who dealt with pieces of information in the Hungarianembassies located in Seoul and Pyongyang. The study of these documents will encouragescholars and research workers to observe modern Korean history on the framework ofan emerging paradigm. In particular, I would like to share my research and, from this timeonwards, continue co-working with specialists in various fields, such as artists and historians.
