초등 저학년 문해력 수업 딜레마의 탐색과 교사교육용 시나리오 개발

본 연구는 초등 저학년 문해력 지도에서 교사가 경험하는 딜레마를 탐색하고, 이를 교사교육용 사례 시나리오로 개발하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 저학년 문해력 교육 전문성을 갖춘 초등교사 4명을 대상으로 반복적인 서면 조사와 FGI를 실시하여 딜레마 사례를 발굴·구체화하였으며, 초등교사 123명의 현장 검토를 거쳐 최종 12편의 시나리오를 개발하였다. 최종 시나리오는 개별 문해 기능 지도의 초점과 방식, 교수적 대응의 방식과 수준의 조절, 문해력 교육 원리의 수업 적용, 학교 안팎의 지원 연계 등 저학년 문해력 수업의 다양한 쟁점을 다루었다. 또한 자료를 종합적으로 분석한 결과, 문해 발달의 전환기적 성격, 문해 요소 간 상호관련성, 문해 기능 발달과 정의적 경험의 동시 고려, 문해력 수준의 개인차 및 지원 조건의 다양성이 딜레마 형성에 주요하게 작용하는 요인으로 확인되었다. 본 연구에서 개발한 시나리오는 예비교사가 문해력 교육에 관한 지식을 실제 수업 맥락에서 해석하고, 서로 다른 대응의 근거와 결과를 비교하며 교수적 판단을 연습하는 교사교육 자료로 활용될 수 있다.
Abstract
This study explored teaching dilemmas encountered in early elementary literacy instruction and developed case-based scenarios for teacher education. Dilemma cases were identified and further developed through repeated written surveys and focus group interviews with four elementary teachers with expertise in early-grade literacy instruction. Following a field review by 123 elementary teachers, 12 scenarios were finalized. The scenarios addressed a range of issues in early elementary literacy instruction, including the focus and approach to teaching specific literacy skills, the adjustment of instructional responses, the classroom enactment of literacy education principles, and the coordination of support within and beyond school. Analysis of the data identified four major factors contributing to the formation of teaching dilemmas: the transitional nature of literacy development, the interrelatedness of literacy components, the simultaneous consideration of literacy skill development and affective experiences, and individual differences in literacy levels and support conditions. The scenarios developed in this study can be used as teacher education materials to help preservice teachers interpret classroom situations through their knowledge of literacy education, compare the rationales and consequences of different teaching responses, and practice pedagogical judgment.
