Abstract
In accordance to the Kyoto Protocol on GHG(greenhouse gas) reduction, various measures to reduce the GHG emission in the fields of international shipping and logistics are required. For a shipping company, a ship operation scheduling considering energy-saving should be presented, in addition, the GHG emission reduction target leading to operational concerns under uncertainties is given based on the average emission quantity in the past. For this reason, a flexibility for effective managements with respect to the GHG emission is extremely required. In this study, one of the ways for that, we focused on ETS(emission trading system) model with option contracts from the shipping company's supply perspective. We formulated two types of the option contracts(call option, put option) and also presented the optimal solutions from a new and extensive angle on two-stage decision-making problem. Furthermore, we examined and showed conditions of key parameters to maximize the expected profit by numerical experiments.
