전라북도 일부 지역 중·고등학생의 구강위생용품 사용 실태

2009년 4월 20일부터 5월 10일까지 전북지역 일부 중· 고등학교 학생들을 대상으로 구강위생용품의 인식 및 일 반적인 사용실태와 구강보건교육 경험 등을 조사한 본 연 구에서의 결론은 다음과 같다. 전동칫솔과 양치용액은 인지 및 사용경험이 높게 조사 되었고, 그와 반대로 치간칫솔은 인지 및 사용경험 모두 낮게 나타났다. 또한, 구강위생용품을 사용하지 않는 이유 는 ‘잘 몰라서’ 응답이 가장 높았다. 이는 구강위생용품에 대해 알고 있어야 해당 구강위생용품을 실제로 사용할 수 있다는 것을 의미한다. 대부분의 중·고등학생들의 구강위 생용품에 대한 인지도와 사용률이 낮은 것으로 나타났으 며, 구강보건교육 경험은 많지 않았고 구강보건교육에 대 한 요구는 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 그러므로 학교 구강 보건교육 시행을 위한 교육프로그램 개발과 시행이 무엇 보다 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 이러한 결과는 중·고등학교 학생들의 구강위생용품의 사용 및 구강보건교육에 대한 실태를 파악하므로써 적절 한 구강위생용품 사용을 권장하는 방안을 제시하고, 이를 바탕으로 학교 구강보건교육 프로그램 개발과 학교구강 보건 증진을 위한 기초자료로 활용하는데 도움이 될 것으 로 사료된다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the actual state of middle and high school student's behavior about the use of oral hygiene devices for developing appropriate educational objectives to improve oral health. Data were collected by questionnaires from 445 middle and high school students in Jeolla-Bukdo, from April 20 to May 10, 2009. Surveyed data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, χ2-test and t-test using SPSS V11.5 program. In the event of those who didn't use oral hygiene supplies, the largest group didn't use the devices since they didn't know about them well. Regarding links between experience of using oral hygiene devices and concern for oral health, those who received that education showed more interest in oral health, and the students who felt the need for that education had more interest than the others who didn't. The results of study suggest how to encourage students to utilize appropriate oral hygiene supplies and to help facilitate the development of school oral health education programs and the promotion of school oral health.
