초록

본 연구는 편입학을 경험한 두 대학생이 살아낸 그들 삶의 이야기를 ‘교육 전환의 여정’ 관점에서 탐구하였다. 연구 참여자의 편입학 경험이 그들이 살아낸 ‘전환의 여정’ 이야기(stories to live by in their transition journey)와 어떻게 관련되어 있는지가 연구의 퍼즐이었으며, ‘4 S 시스템’(Schlossberg, 1984)의 관점에서 제시하는 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. Situation: 경제적 어려움과 학벌주의, 취업은 참여자의 전환 경험 형성에서 가장 두드러진 상황 요인이었다. Self: 참여자가 살아내는 이야기를 구성하는 과정에서 가장 돋보이는 것은 자기 자신에 대한 믿음과 확신이었다. Support: 전환 경험 구성에 있어 드러나는 지원 요소는 가족, 친구, 만남의 인연 등 다양하지만, 가장 돋보였던 지원요소는 현수의 경우 ‘자신감의 고양’, 만수의 경우 자기 성찰에서 비롯된 ‘자신감과 주체의식의 성장’이라는 ‘자기-지원(self-support)’요소였다. Strategies: 전환 경험 형성에서 작동했던 전략은 현수의 경우 ‘자기 가치의 적용’으로, 만수의 경우 ‘지속적인 자기 성찰’로 해석될 수 있다.

Abstract

This study explores two college transfer students’ stories to live by through their curricular transition journey to transferring. Research puzzle is how the participants’ stories to live by in their transition journey are related with construction of their college transfer experience. Research results interpreted from ‘4 S System’ perspectives(Schlossberg, 1984) are as follows. These are the most prominent components when they compose their transition stories in each factor. Situation: financial difficulty, academic factionalism, and finding employment. Self: self-belief and self-efficacy. Support: self-support.(Hyun-su: enhancing self-confidence / Man-su: developing sense of identity). Strategies: (Hyun-su: the application of self-value to the choice of transition experience / Man-su: continuous self-examination).
