리쾨르의 해석학은 기본적으로 하이데거의 존재론적 해석학의 구도를 취하지만, 의심의 해석학을 또 하나의 축으로 하고 있다. 그가 말하는 해석 행위에는, 존재론적 해석학의 계시와 열어 밝힘과 의존과 귀속이 있으면서 동시에 다양한 의심의 방법을 통해 억압하는 구조를 없애는 비판 행위가 일어나는 것이다. 해석학은 이데올로기 비판을 직접하지는 않지만, 밖에서 일어난 이데올로기 비판이 해석의 과정 중에 중요한 단계로 수용될 수 있고 수용되어야 함을 리쾨르는 밝혔다. 신학이나 신앙은 성서라고 하는 은유의 세계에 바탕을 두고 있다. 신앙은 성서 앞에서 일어나는 새로운 자기 이해다. 그러므로 리쾨르의 은유 이론에 따르면, 기독교의 신앙은 언제나 텍스트가 제안하는 새로운 세상 앞에서 자기의 편견을 버리고 외부에서 밝혀진 구조 악에 대한 비판을 받아들이는 과정이다. 신앙은 이데올로기 비판을 수용한다는 말이다. 이런 점 때문에, 리쾨르의 해석학은 해방신학이나 여성 신학 같은 이데올로기 비판을 중시하는 신학에 중요한 영감을 준다. 여성 신학의 경우, 가부장제 비판만을 위해서는 리쾨르의 해석학이 필요 없지만, 신앙의 영성을 중시하면서 비판적 신학을 마련하고자 할 때는 그의 해석학이 중요한 역할을 할 수 있는 것이다. 쉬나이더스는 통합의 해석학을 위해, 그리고 맥페이그는 새로운 모델을 통한 여성 해방의 신학을 마련하기 위해 리쾨르의 해석학을 이론적 기반으로 사용했다. 그리고 앤더슨은 로고스 중심의 철학보다는 신화의 은유 세계에서 여성의 새로운 역할을 찾기 위해 리쾨르 이론의 도움을 받았다. 이것은 몇 가지 예에 불과하지만, 성서를 버리지 않고 여성 신학을 할 때 유용할 것이다. 신앙 경험으로부터 해방의 힘을 끌어내고자 하는 신학에 리쾨르의 해석학은 설득력 있는 이론을 제공할 것이다.
Abstract
P. Ricoeur's hermeneutics is fundamentally based on the Heidegger's ontological hermeneutics but takes the hermeneutics of suspicion as the other pole. According to Ricoeur, interpretation is made up with both the ontological revelation and ideological criticism which helps free from oppressing social structure. His theory of metaphor tells that faith is always the process of accepting the criticism of the social structural evil before the proposed world of text as metaphorical work. Genuine faith is open to ideological criticism. This is why Ricoeur's hermeneutics can aide in theology that focuses on ideological criticism such as liberation theology and feminist theology. In case of feminist theology that respects, even though critical on the one hand, biblical spirituality on the other hand, Ricoeur's hermeneutics can play a big role. Schneiders used Ricoeur's theory for the so called integral interpretation and MacFague for searching for a new model to build a new feminist theology. Pamela Anderson makes use of Ricoeur's narrative theory to find a just role of woman in the myths in stead of man centered logos philosophy. Ricoeur's philosophy provides a persuasive argument for theology which tries to take liberating force along with experience of faith.
