The generation of low- and intermediate-level radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel is increasing, leading to a growing demand for maritime transport of radioactive waste. During transport, radiological impacts onthe public may occur, and it is therefore necessary to demonstrate prior to transport that these impacts are negligible. Currently, risk assessments for transport in Korea rely on assessment code developed abroad, but these codesincorporate the characteristics of their countries of origin, making it difficult to fully reflect domestic conditions. To address this issue, a preliminary study developed a risk assessment model that reflects domestic characteristics. When evaluating transport, uncertainties in the factors can cause variations in the results. However, since numerousfactors are required in the assessment, it may be difficult for users to identify which factors should be prioritized forreview when outliers occur in the results. Therefore, in order to derive results with a sufficient level of accuracy andto facilitate efficient review, sensitivity analysis is needed to establish the priority of factors. To this end, the modelfor estimating the maximum individual and collective doses to the public under normal transport conditions wasanalyzed. Subsequently, a methodology for sensitivity analysis of factors was developed. Assumptions were thenestablished, and based on these, default values for the factors were determined. Finally, using the sensitivity analysismethod, sensitivity analyses of the factors in the assessment model were conducted, and priorities of the factors werederived. These findings are expected to be useful for reviewing and analyzing input parameters when assessing publicradiation exposure under normal conditions during maritime transport of radioactive waste in the future.
