기술재해 이후 국민들의 인식유형에 따른 외상 후 스트레스 장애: 세월호 참사를 중심으로

초록

세월호 참사는 대한민국 전 국민들에게 외상 후 스트레스 장애를 남겨주었다. 세월호 참사는 다른 사건들과 다르게 살아있는 아이들이 그대로 수장되는 것을 대중매체 영상을 통해 실시간로 노출이 되었기 때문에 사건 직후 국민적 외상 후 스트레스가 크게 작용하였다. 국민들은 세월호 참사직후 외상 후 스트레스로 인한 우울증과 삶의 의욕저하 등을 겪어야만 했다. 이에 본 연구에서는 세월호 참사 3개월 이후 세월호 참사에 대한 국민들의 주관적 인식유형 분류와 그에 따른 외상 후 스트레스 장애를 파악하고자 한다. 연구결과, 제1유형은 ‘기억을 통한 혁신추구형’으로 세월호 참사를 잊지 말고 이를 통한 재난구조시스템과 안전시스템의 혁신적인 변화를 추구하였다. 제2유형은 ‘총체적 불신형’으로 언론, 해경, 정부 등 세월호 참사와 관련된 모든 기관에 대하여 총체적으로 불신을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 제3유형은 ‘감정이입형’으로 세월호 참사에 대한 감정적인 이입이 강한 유형으로 세월호 3개월 후에도 지속적으로 외상 후 스트레스 장애가 나타났다. 제4유형은 ‘정부원망형’으로 세월호 참사에서 정부가 역할을 제대로 못한 것에 대한 원망이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 대형참사 이후 국민들의 의견을 반영한 제도적 변화와 더불어 국민들의 공중보건 차원으로 대형참사 이후 외상 후 스트레스 장애에 대한 간호중재의 필요성을 시사한다.

Abstract

Sewol ferry disaster has left post-traumatic stress disorder to all Korean people. Distinguished from other disasters, as Sewol ferry disaster showed young people were drown to death in sea through alive broadcast, just after the accident the degree of post-traumatic stress disorder was highly serious. For this reason, this study aimed to classify the types of people’s subjective perception on the disaster three months after Sewol ferry disaster and explore post-traumatic stress disorder. The result shows that the first type is ‘the innovation-pursuing type through memory’, in which people do not forget the disaster and pursue the innovative change in the disaster relief system and safety system. The second type is ‘the overall distrust type’, in which people are showed to distrust in general all organizations related to Sewol ferry disaster such as the media, the Maritime Police, and the government. The third type is ‘the empathy type’, in which people showed a strong empathy to the Sewol ferry disaster and displayed constant Post-traumatic stress disorder even three months after the disaster. The fourth type is ‘the government-blaming type’, which derives from the resentment to the government who does not play a responsible role in Sewol ferry disaster. This result implies the institutional change which reflects the people’s opinion after great disasters and the need for nursing mediation in post-traumatic stress disorder in terms of people’s public health care.
