도박중독회복자들의 낙인극복에 대한 현상학적 연구: 남성 회복자들을 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 도박중독에서 회복된 개인들의 회복 후 낙인극복 경험에 대한 현상학적 연구이다. 연구자들은 연구 참여자들이 구성한 낙인의 의미와 이에 대한 반응과 대처 그리고 결과를 살펴보고자 했다. 연구에는 9명의 남성 회복자들이 참여했다. 현상학적 자료는 심층면담을 수행하여 구성했다. 자료분석은 Giorgi가 제안한 분석 절차에 따라 수행했고 연구 참여자들의 경험을 상황적 구조 기술과 일반적 구조 기술로 나누어 기술했다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 상황적 구조에서는 48개의 주제들이 도출되었다. 연구자들은 이를 ‘위대한 체념’, ‘세상으로 가는 길 닦기’, ‘긍정하는 인간으로의 진화’, ‘낙인의 중력 법칙 거스르기’, ‘성장의 선물 자유’, ‘희망으로 기적 만들기’, ‘자기갱신을 통한 새로운 삶의 의례’의 7개의 본질적 주제로 구성했다. 연구결과에 근거하여 낙인의 겸손한 수용과 책임 있는 행동을 수단으로 한 낙인극복에 대한 논의를 했고 사회복지 실천 프로그램에 대한 제언을 했다.

Abstract

This study is a phenomenological study on the recovery experience of gambling addictions who escaped from gambling. The researchers sought to understand the meaning of stigma, reaction, coping, and results. Nine male recovering gambling addicts participated in the study. Phenomenological Data were constructed by conducting in-depth interviews. The authors analyzed data according to Giorgi’s suggestion. The experience of the participants was divided into situational structure statements and general structure statements. The results of study are as follows. In the situational statement, 48 topics were derived. The researchers found that their recover experiences mean 'a great resignation', 'making road to the society', 'an evolution to a positive human being', 'going against a rule of gravitation in stigma', 'a present of freedom from of growth', 'making miracle through hope', and 'a ritual of new life through self renewal'. Based on the results of the study, we discussed the overcoming of stigma through modest acceptance of stigmatization and responsible behavior, and suggested the social welfare practice program.
