Abstract
This study examined temporal shifts in the bio-psycho-social pathways of Long COVID symptoms among non-hospitalized adults. 54 adults with confirmed COVID-19 in Daejeon (March–August 2022) were divided into two groups based on the duration since diagnosis (4~12 weeks and 13~24 weeks) and assessed using the COVID-19 Yorkshire Rehabilitation Scale (C19-YRS). Structural equation modeling revealed that at 4~12 weeks, physical symptoms primarily and directly affected functional independence (β = -0.72), whereas at 13~24 weeks, mental health symptoms increasingly impacted overall health indirectly via social functioning (β = -0.65). These findings suggest a temporal shifts from early inflammation-driven impairments to later neuro-immune-endocrine dysregulation, underscoring the need for time-specific intervention strategies. As the first Korean study to identify time-specific symptom-function pathways in non-hospitalized patients using a standardized tool, this research provides a valuable foundation, though multi-center prospective validation is warranted.
