망고 거리의 집에 형상화 된 도시 거리와 보도의 장소 경험

이 논문은 산드라 시스네로스(Sandra Cisneros)의 『망고 거리의 집』(The House on Mango Street)의 주요 배경을 이루는 대도시 거리의 장소 경험을 다룬다. 좀 더 구체적으로 이 연구는 대도시의 가로와 보도가 인간의 다차원적 경험 현상으로서 인간에게 특별하고 의미있는 장소 경험을 제공할 수 있다는 점을 전제로 주인공 에스페란자((Esperanza Cordero)가 시카고의 망고 거리에서 십대 시절을 보내면서 겪는 다양한 장소 경험의 양상을 분석한다.
Abstract
The paper deals with place experience on the street and the sidewalks in a big city, the main setting of Sandra Cisneros's The House on Mango Street. More specifically, this paper describes the process where Esperanza felt Mango Street from as a strange neighborhood to as a friendly community by analyzing the aspects of her various place experience on Mango Street.
