소년교도소 수용자의 내외 통제성과 자아존중감 분석을 통한 형사정책적 함의

근대 이후의 형사사법은 소년의 범죄에 대해 강력한 처벌보다는 잘못된 행동을 교정하여 건전한 사회인으로 복귀하는데 중점을 두고 있다. 따라서 소년법상 비행소년에 대해 강력한 처벌보다는 보 호가 우선하는 정책을 펴고 있다. 소년교도소에 수감되어 있는 소년수용자의 경우 대체로 이전에 소년보호처분을 경험한 소년들이 대부분이다. 이러한 점에서 볼 때 소년수용자의 재범방지를 위해서는 그들의 내·외적 환경을 분석하는 것이 우선적으로 고려되어야 할 것이다. 따라서 성인사범으로의 전 이가 우려되는 위기집단인 소년교도소 수용자에 대한 체계적인 분석은 청소년 범죄의 근원적인 원인 진단과 재범방지를 위해 필요하다. 이 연구는 소년수용자의 내외통제성 수준 및 특성 분석, 내외통제성과 자기효능감, 자아존중감과의 관계 분석, 자기효능감과 자아존중감과의 관계를 분석하였다. 이 분석에 의하면 소년수용자의 내적통제성이 자기효능감과 자아존중감 등 여러 행동영역에 지속적이고 상호적으로 큰 영향을 미치고 있다는 사실을 파악할 수 있었다. 또한 소년수용자들의 내적통제성을 높이기 위해서는 밀접한 관련 성이 높은 자기효능감과 자아존중감을 제고하는 것이 효과적이라는 사실도 검증할 수 있었다. 이번 연구는 소년교도소 수용자의 내외통제성, 자기효능감, 자아존중감 등은 통제되지 않은 상태에서 자기기입식 질문지에 의해 진행되었으므로 소년수들의 과장응답이나 축소되었을 가능성이 존재한다. 따라서 향후 연구에서는 자기기입 외에 다양한 측정방법들을 통해 결과의 타당성을 높일 필요가 있다. 또한 내외통제성에 영향을 주는 두 가지 요인, 자기효능감과 자아존중감을 고려하였으나 현실적으로 다른 변인이 존재할 가능성이 높기 때문에 향후의 연구에서는 내외통제성을 더욱 잘 설명해 줄 수 있는 변인을 포함할 필요성이 있다.
Abstract
Through this study, it was possible to grasp the fact that the inner control of boys had a continuous and mutually great effect on various behavioral domains such as self-efficacy and self-esteem. In addition, it was possible to verify the fact that it is effective to enhance the self-efficacy and self-esteem, which are closely related, in order to increase the internal control of juveniles. Since this study was conducted with 53 boys, it is difficult to generalize. Therefore, in future research, it is expected that conducting the study with a large number of juvenile prisoners distributed in various regions will be persuasive in explaining the relationship with the variable to be studied. Since the internal and external control, self-efficacy, and self-esteem of this study were conducted by the self-report questionnaire in an uncontrolled state, there is a possibility that the young inmates' exaggerated responses or reduced responses. Therefore, in future research, it is necessary to increase the validity of the results through various measurement methods other than self-recording In this study, two factors affecting internal and external control, self-efficacy and self-esteem, were considered, but in reality, other variables are highly likely to exist, so it is necessary to include variables that can better explain external control in future studies.
