청소년의 인터넷 중독이 학교적응에 미치는 영향 -우울, 충동성의 매개효과를 중심으로-

본 연구는 청소년의 인터넷 중독과 학교적응의 관계에서 우울과 충동성의 매개효과를 밝히고자 하였다. 연구의 대상은 전주, 익산, 군산에 소재한 중학교 학생 264명이며, 연구에 사용한 척도는 인터넷중독척도, 학교적응척도, 우울척도, 충동성척도를 사용하였다. 자료 분석을 위해 일원배치분산분석, 중다회귀분석과 Baron & Kenny의 매개효과 검증을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조사 대상자 중 인터넷 중독 집단은 7.2%, 잠재 집단은 37.1%, 비중독집단은 55.7%로 나타났으며, 인터넷 중독 집단은 잠재집단에 비해, 잠재집단은 비중독집단에 비해 우울, 충동성의 평균 점수가 높게 나타났으며, 학교적응의 평균 점수는 낮게 나타났다. 둘째, 인터넷 중독은 우울과 충동성에 정적인 영향을 학교적응에는 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 인터넷 중독이 우울(β=.393***), 충동성(β=.375***), 학교적응(β=-.352***)에 미치는 영향력은 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났으며, 각각의 모델설명력을 살펴보면, 우울에 미치는 모델설명력은 22.6%, 충동성에 미치는 모델설명력은 18.1%, 학교적응에 미치는 모델설명력은 16.5%로 나타났다. 셋째, 우울과 충동성은 학교적응에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 우울이 학교에 미치는 영향은 통계적으로 유의미하며(β=-.402***), 모델설명력은 19.6%로 나타났다. 충동성이 학교적응에 미치는 영향 또한 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났으며(β=-.407***) 이때 모델설명력은 33.0%로 나타났다. 넷째, 우울과 충동성은 인터넷 중독과 학교적응의 관계에서 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 독립변수인 인터넷 중독이 종속변수인 학교적응에 직접적으로 미치는 영향력(β=-.328***)이 매개변수인 우울(β=-.188***)과 충동성(β=-.162***)을 투입하였을 때 영향력이 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 인터넷의 중독적 사용이 학교적응에 부적응을 초래할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 우울과 충동적인 영향으로 개인의 심리정서에 영향을 미칠 수 있으며, 또한 이러한 심리적 요인들이 학교 적응에 부적응을 초래 할 수 있음을 시사하는 바이다.
Abstract
This research is for investigating the effects of adolescent internet addiction on school adjustment focusing on the mediating effects of depression and impulsivity. The target for this research is 364 middle school students in JEONJU, IKSAN and GUNSAN. The scales used for this research are internet addiction scale, school adjustment scale, depression scale and impulsivity scale, and one-way ANOVA, a multiple regression for the analysis of data and Baron & Kenny’s mediator verification method. The results are: Firstly, internet addicted group (7.2%) is more likely to be depressed and impulsive than the potential group (37.1%) and no addiction group (55.7%), where as potential group is more likely to be depressed and impulsive than no addiction group. However, the school adjustment results show the reverse. Secondly, internet addiction affirms the effects of depression and impulsivity, but it negatively affects school adjustment. The effect of internet addiction on depression, impulsivity and school adjustment is statistically significant (p<.001). Also, from the point of view of the explanatory power of model, the model affecting depression, impulsivity and school adjustment are 22.6%, 18.1% and 16.5%, respectively. Thirdly, depression and impulsivity negatively affect school adjustment. The effect of depression on school adjustment is statistically significant (p<.001), and its explanatory power is 19.6%. Also, the effect of impulse on school adjustment is significant (p<.001),and its explanatory power is 33.0%. Fourthly, depression and impulsivity have mediator effect on the relation between internet addiction and school adjustment. That is, the power of influence(β=-.328***) of internet addiction as a independent variable on school adjustment as a dependent variable reduced in comparison with depression and impulse as a parameter(β=-.188***, β=-.162***). The results of this research show that the internet addiction can negatively affect school adjustment. Not only can it affect personal emotion as depression and impulsivity, but also psychological factor can negatively result in school adjustment.
