본 연구의 목적은 세계무예마스터십위원회의 국제화 과정에 대한 의미와 미래 방향을 제시하는 데 있다. 문헌고찰법으로 살펴본 결과, 세계무예마스터십위원회는 대한민국이 중심이 되어 창립한 국제스포츠조직으로, 창립 이후 국제적 성장을 이루어 왔다. 국제스포츠기구의 가장 중요한 사업이 경기 대회의 개최이듯 세계무예마스터십위원회는 세계무예마스터십, 세계청소년무예마스터십, 온라인 세계무예마스터십을 성공적으로 개최했고, 이와 더불어 연례 종합 컨퍼런스 행사인 WMC 컨벤션 등의 사업도 성공적으로치렀으며, 국제스포츠계에서 공식적으로 인정하는 국제기구로 발돋움하였다. 세계무예마스터십위원회의국제화 전략 모델은 첫째, 국제올림픽위원회(IOC)에서 개최하는 세계적인 스포츠 축제인 올림픽게임을그 모델로 삼고 있으며, 둘째, 투-트랙(Two-track) 전략으로 경기 대회와 교육⋅연구 사업을 추진하고 있고, 셋째, 대한민국을 넘어 아시아와 세계로 뻗어나가기 위하여 국제스포츠 주요 인사를 활용한 성장을했으며, 넷째, 국제스포츠계의 글로벌 기준을 부합하도록 노력하고 있다는 점이다. 이를 통해, 향후 지속적 대회 및 행사 개최를 통해 더욱 국제스포츠기구로서 위상을 강화할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to present the meaning and future direction of the internationalization of the World Martial Arts Masterships Committee. After a literature survey method, the World Martial Arts Masterships Committee is an international sports organization centered in Korea and has been growing internationally since its founding. Just as the most important business of international sports organizations is hosting competitions, the World Martial Arts Masterships, World Youth Martial Arts Masterships Competition, Cheongju Martial Arts Masterships, Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships, Jincheon World Youth Martial Arts Masterships, and online World Martial Arts Masterships are held. Successfully completed projects such as the WMC Convention and General Conference. In order to develop further, the Olympic Games, a global sports festival hosted by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), should be used as a model in the future. Second, competitions, education, and research projects should be promoted through a two-track strategy. Third, in order to expand beyond Korea to Asia and the world, we must grow professionally by utilizing key figures in international sports. Fourth, efforts must be made to meet the global standards of the international sports world.
