초록

Antioxidants are effective agents in quenching oxidative damage to biomolecules. Therefore, antioxidant treatments have emerged as a way of reducing oxidative stress-related diseases. Honokiol, a small-molecule polyphenol isolated from the genus Magnolia, shows a wide range of biological activities including antioxidant properties but has inappropriate physicochemical properties. The chemical structure of honokiol was modified and the antioxidative activities of the derivatives were evaluated. Introduction of nitrobenzamide groups at 4-position of 2-allylphenol provided the potent antioxidants which showed better DPPH radical scavenging activities than BHA.

Introduction of nitrobenzamide groups at 4-position of 2-allylphenol provided the potent antioxidants which showed better DPPH radical scavenging activities than BHA.
