초록

The twenty-first century marks a decisive ontological turning point in the history of humanity, as the evolution of Homo sapiens becomes increasingly governed by biotechnological, digital, and algorithmic intervention. This study explores the theological and ethical implications of the emerging Homo Deus paradigm, which envisions a technologically augmented humanity striving toward immortality, omniscience, and self-deification. Engaging the resources of classical theological anthropology, it examines how the doctrine of the imago Dei is being reinterpreted and contested in light of artificial intelligence, genetic modification, and cybernetic integration. The paper argues that this transformation constitutes not merely a scientific or cultural milestone but a profound ontological rupture that challenges historic understandings of personhood, agency, and moral responsibility. Moreover, the rise of Homo Deus signals the emergence of a technocratic and post-theistic moral order that redefines the grounds of human dignity and destiny. In response, the study calls for a renewed theological engagement with technoscientific culture, one that resists the seductions of posthuman utopianism while reaffirming the transcendent worth of the human person as created, redeemed, and destined for communion with God.
