초록
The concept is a representative character distinguishable K-pop artists from other genres. This study aims to provide a fundamental for management research on K-pop and attempts to understand the essence of K-pop concepts through reverse engineering for concepts by deductive inference with mathematical logic. This study explains causally that the K-pop concept is a cause of economic power in the K-pop industry beyond the artist’s appearance. This study primarily built up a causal explanation and a causal model for the K-pop concept and then combined it with the market theory to develop a feedback model. Moreover, it attempted to explain the variety and change of K-pop concepts. This study may open the way for a managerial approach to the K-pop industry in terms of its conceptual features, which in turn can be explained in future research, e.g., explaining the marketing strategy of each K-pop idol group and entertainment company with those models as an internal mechanism.
