Abstract
In ubiquitous environments, various contexts and services are interconnected to one another to provide personalized energy-aware services to multi users. In order to offer such services, we must have a novel contextaware system that generates adequate patterns through effective context analysis in pervasive environments. However, conventional systems have not adequately considered the important issues, such as enhancement of the personalized service, energy-aware service prediction of the dynamic situations, and scalability of various service domains. To cope with these limitations, this paper proposes the novel Knowledge based Service Platform that can offer personalized energy management services available for multi users in various service domains. Furthermore, the proposed platform clusters user groups that have similar lifestyles, and then generates service patterns based on events created by each group for effective pattern learning. Our platform reduces power consumption up to 9.3% at real home test bed in an apartment in Korea. It also decreases service response time up to 14.6% when service request events happen 100 times per hour and 24.7% when service prediction events happen 100 times per hour(more complex situation), respectively.
