Abstract

A Critical Review of the Political Reginalism Lee, Changhee (Kyungpook National University) This article aims to the necessity of investigating the concept 'regionalism' at the point of meta-theory level. The existing discourse and study over Korean regionalism have, roughly speaking, two main problems such as 'limited and narrow meaning' and 'the effect of dominant discourse'. But few of scholars have conduct the empirical and concrete survey for grasping the mechanism on the political cleavage of the other regionalism. This article will reexamine the metatheoritical problems of existing concepts and study from the critical viewpoint. To give shape to this idea and problematic, this paper will try to reexamine the reginalism, regional cleavage, regional feeling, shaping the direction of application for the practical problems - that have risen from 1990s - analysis closely. This testing essay to presentation of paradigmatic set of several examples is aim to make an offer the possibility of finding out the reality of potential regional cleavage in Korea.
