Abstract
Regionalism is a catchword for a new order in the world. Intra-regional economic interactions and cooperation have rapidly expanded, primarily due to the economic interdependence and economic growth in the North East Asian countries, Korea and China in particular. Basically, the economic growth will be run in the North East Asia. As nations in the region cooperate more closely on economic and common development issues, the intra-regional economic interactions and cooperation are expected to be more active in the future. In that sense, neo-functionalist logic seems an appropriate approach for the basis of intra-regional cooperation. This paper focuses on the possibility of regional cooperation in the area of the Yellow Sea Rim countries through the lens of the term of Green Growth. Recently both Korea and China set “Green Growth Policy” as a national vision by linking a policy of sustainable development. We propose that the paradigm of Green Growth can be an alternate means to activate the development of economic cooperation in the Yellow Sea Rim.
