Abstract

Inquiry on studies of derivatives of Modern ChineseA language changes with the development of the society. As new objects and events occur, new vocabularies are invented to describe them. Derivatives and creation of new vocabularies have very close relations. Derivatives create new vocabularies through affixes. An affix is in state of loss in its original form and is placed at a specific place in the process of word formation. Chinese is an isolated language which characterizes in keeping its constancy of language. However, in observation of the phenomenon in Modern Chinese has shown that it has developed along with affixes, suffixes. So far, studies in derivatives went as far as syntactic studies. To study a complex language in depth and variety, derivative studies need to expand on lexicon and pragmatic studies which has already started. This article is written to provide a new way and index for study of derivatives. It is the best way for researchers that studies are made on the basis of former derivatives.
