초록

The defining characteristics of performing arts are spontaneity, indefinite multiplicity, improvisation, and holistic interaction, which occur at street level and are oriented towards popular and entertainment potential. In this study, I frame these essential characteristics as “Performing Art Value.” I aim to elucidate the structure of performing arts through case studies on “Nongak”. In the process of mastering performing arts, both orality and nonverbal communication are essential to the transfer of knowledge and information. I consider this process through bodily sensation. It is possible to say that the extent of “Performing Art Value” is determined mainly by this form of nonverbal communication. This direct assessment method is wholly different from the official intangible cultural property policy of preserving performing art paradigms.
