국가직무능력표준(NCS)기반 영어교과 과정을 통한 실질적 영어 교육 및 평가의 방법: I대 항공운항 전공을 중심으로

이 연구는 국가직무능력표준(NCS)에 기반을 둔 영어교과 과정을 통한 실질적 영어교육 및 평가 방법에 대한 항공운항 전공 학생들의 인식을 탐색한다. 주된 발견은실험집단 참여자들은 직무능력의 향상, 영어수업에 몰입 유도, 학습 자율성 신장, 토익 점수 향상이라는 점에서 NCS 기반 영어수업모형이 긍정적이었다고 인식했다. 실험 집단 D의 유의미한 결과는 심층 면접과 설문조사를 통해 도출된 네 가지 요소 때문으로 설명될 수 있다. 직무와 관련된 과제에 학생 집중을 장려한 짝활동, 직무내용 중심으로 편성된 교재로 인한 학생 자율성을 향상시키는 학습전략, 다양한직무와 관련한 의사소통활동에 대한 관심, 그리고 특수목적영어와 관련된 의미있는영어사용에 있어서의 실력향상을 들 수 있다. 이 결과들은 NCS에 기반을 둔 특성화된 항공운항과의 전공자중에서 영어 수준이 낮은 학생들은 높은 토익점수, 높은수업 참여도, 자율성 신장과 같은 학업 성취도를 위해 NCS의 교육 목표가 규정한내용을 포함하는 특수 목적에 부합하는 교재를 사용한 수업모형을 가져야 한다는교육적 시사점을 제시한다.
Abstract
This study explores the perception of the curriculum and evaluation method based on National Competency Standards (NCS) of 100 aircraft cabin service management students. Participants in the experimental groups perceived the NCS English teaching model positively in terms of improving competency, causing English class immersion, boosting learning autonomy, and enhancing a TOEIC score. The experimental groups contained meaningful four factors through in-depth interviews and surveys as follows: 1) pair work encouraging students' concentration on tasks related with their future jobs; 2) learning strategies to enhance students' autonomy caused by the special course book including the contents of NCS; 3) students' interest in various communicative activities relative to their jobs; 4) an improvement in meaningful use of English for special purposes. These results suggest that low-level English learners with a specialized majors such as aircraft cabin service management based on NCS should have the English teaching model to use the specially fitted course materials including the contents with the educational objective which NCS regulates for their learning achievement such as a high TOEIC score as well as high class participation and enhancement of autonomy.
