본 연구는 유치원 교사와 일반 직장 여성의 직업흥미가 어떤 양상을 보이고 있는지를 알아보는 데에 목적을 두고, 공사립 유치원에 재직중인 교사 393명과 유사한 연령, 학력, 경력을 가지고 있는 일반 직장 여성 394명을 대상으로 스트롱 직업흥미검사를 실시하여, GOT, BIS, PSS 척도별 분포 및 척도 내 또는 척도 간 상호관련성을 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, GOT 척도에서 유치원 교사는 예술형(A)의 분포가 44.0%로 가장 높고, 그 다음으로 사회형(S)이 23.2%로 나타난 것에 비해, 일반 직장 여성은 사회형(S)이 28.2%로 가장 높고, 그 다음으로 예술형(A)이 25.4%로 높게 나타났다. 두 집단 간에 직업유형의 등위상관계수는 .27이었다. 또한 직업흥미의 GOT 척도는 유치원 교사와 일반 직장 여성 집단 간에 현장형(R)과 예술형(A)에서 유의한 차이를 보이고 있었다. 둘째, BIS 척도에서 유치원 교사와 일반 직장 여성 간에 유의한 차이를 보이는 활동이나 주제는 현장형(R)의 자연, 운동 경기, 기계와 탐구형(I)의 과학과 예술형(A)의 음악/드라마, 미술. 응용 미술과 사회형(S)의 교육과 사무형(C)의 컴퓨터 활동에 뚜렷한 선호를 보이고 있었으며, 일반 직장 여성은 진취형(E)의 법/정치, 상품유통, 판매, 조직관리와 사무형(C)의 자료관리에 뚜렷한 선호를 보이고 있었다. 셋째, PSS 척도에서 유치원 교사와 일반 직장 여성의 직업흥미에 대한 개인특성은 학습 유형과 리더십 유형에서 두 집단 간에 유의한 차이를 보이는 선호 경향이 있는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the vocational interest structure of kindergarten teachers and career women on the Korean version of the Strong Interest Inventory. Participants were 393 kindergarten teachers and 394 career women. Data were compared with GOT, BIS, PSS scale of the Strong. The result were as follows: The distribution of the GOT was Artistic(A) type 44.0%, and Social(S) type 23.2% for kindergarten teachers, and Social(S) type 28.2%, and Artistic(A) type 25.4% for career women. The rank order correlation coefficient of the GOT was .27 with kindergarten teachers and career women. There was significant differences between kindergarten teachers and career women at the Realistic(R) type and Artistic(A) type of the GOT on the Strong. On the BIS of the Strong, there was significant differences between kindergarten teachers and career women at the nature, athletics, mechanical activities of Realistic(R) type, and science of Investigative(I) type, and music/drama, art, applied arts of Artistic(A) type, and teaching of Social(S) type, and law/politics, merchandising, sales, organizational management of Enterprising(E) type, and data management, computer activities of Conventional(C) type. On the PSS of the Strong, there was significant differences between kindergarten teachers and career women at the learning environment scale and the leadership style scale.
