청소년의 갈등해결유형 결정요인에 관한 연구- 인구통계학적 변인과 Leadership life skills을 중심으로 -

이 연구에서는 청소년의 갈등원천과 갈등해결유형 실태를 분석하고, 갈등해결유형 영향요인을 탐색함으로써 청소년기 바람직한 갈등해결유형 형성을 위한 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 청소년의 갈등해결유형을 협력유형, 회피유형, 공격유형으로 구분하고, 성, 학교급, 학업성적, 가정경제수준, leadership life skills 수준별로 청소년이 어떠한 갈등해결성향을 보이는 지, 갈등해결유형의 주요 영향요인이 무엇인지를 분석하였다. 청소년들은 주로 성격차이, 학교성적·진학문제, 신체적인 차이로 인해 친구와의 갈등을 많이 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 전반적으로 갈등해결 성향은 협력유형이 많았으며, 그 다음으로 회피유형, 공격유형의 순이었다. 친구와의 갈등발생 빈도는 협력유형을 감소시키고 공격유형과 회피유형을 증대시켜 동일한 문제로 인한 갈등의 반복출현을 감소시키기 위한 갈등관리능력의 필요성이 제기되었다. 또한 협력적 갈등해결능력을 향상시키기 위하여 남자청소년 보다는 여자청소년, 인문고나 중학교 보다는 실업계고 청소년, 학교성적과 가정경제수준이 낮은 청소년에 대한 지원이 확대되어야 한다. 또한 leadership life skills과 관련된 문제해결능력, 의사결정능력, 의사소통능력, 인간관계능력 향상을 위한 프로그램 구성이 필요하다. 마지막으로 청소년의 갈등해결유형의 결정에 영향을 미치는 것은 개인적 특성변인 보다는 leadership life skills이라고 할 수 있으며, 청소년기 바람직한 갈등해결유형을 확립하기 위해서는 이를 향상에 노력해야 할 것으로 판단된다.
Abstract
The goal of this study was to identify the factors that affect youth conflict resolution styles(compromise style, attact·anger style, avoidance style) preference. The objectives were 1) to investigate YCRS status, 2) to identify its relationship with independent variables(4 demographic variables and leadership life skills variable), 3) to analyze factors affecting YCRS preference, and 4) to draw implications for youth conflict resolution.The dependent variable was consisted of 35 items of YCRS scale with friends. After factor analysis, the scale was consisted of 30 items(12 items on compromise style, 13 items on attact·anger style, and 5 items on avoidance style). The leadership life skills scale was consisted of 4 factors and 27 items.Data were collected from 1,600 students of 32 middle and high schools in Seoul. After screening the data, 1,186 responses only were used in the analysis. The SPSS program for window was used to analyze the data for this study. The statistical methods employed in this study were frequency, t-Test, ANOVA, LSD test for post-hoc interpretation, correlation analysis, and Multinomial Logit analysis.The major findings of this study were as follows:1. Personality differences, school achievement grades, physical differences, and life style differences were major conflict origins.2. The mean scores of YCRS were compromise style 3.31, attact·anger style 2.45, and avoidance style 2.81. Therefore youth had higher compromise propensity than attack·anger and avoidance in conflict resolution.3. As a result of multinomial logit analysis, leadership life skills only had positive effects on YCRS. Therefore It is need to enhance leadership life skills' level of youth for leading youth to compromise style of conflict resolution.
