초기 청소년의 내재화 행동문제 변화에 대한 성별 및 학업성취감의 영향력 검증 : 우울/불안을 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 잠재성장모형을 적용하여 초기 청소년의 내재화 행동문제는 어떠한 양상으로 변화하는지를 파악하고, 그 변화에 있어서 개인차에 대한 성별 및 학업성취감의 영향력을 검증하는 것이다. 자료 분석을 위해 한국청소년패널의 초4, 초5, 초6, 중1 총 4년간의 종단자료를 활용하였다. 연구결과에 의하면 첫째, 내재화 행동문제는 초4에서 초5까지 거의 변화 없다가 초6과 중1사이에 증가하는 패턴을 보여주었으며, 이러한 비선형적 변화양상에 있어서 개인차가 존재하였다. 둘째, 남학생의 내재화 행동문제는 시간 흐름에 따라 완만하게 증가하였으며 여학생은 초4에서 초5까지 약간 감소하다가 이후 급격하게 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 4학년 때 학업성취감 수준이 높았던 학생들은 중간이하의 또래들에 비해 시간 흐름에 따라 내재화 행동문제가 더 빠르게 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 내재화 행동문제의 긍정적인 변화를 위한 개입방안이 논의되었다.
Abstract
This study investigated the trajectory of internalizing behavior problems as well as the effects of sex and perceived academic achievement on changes in the internalization of these behavior problems. It did so through latent growth curve modeling procedures. The participants were adolescents, taken from a sample of 4th ~7th graders from the Korean Youth Panel Survey. There were three significant findings. First, early adolescents’ internalization of behavior problems increased between the 4th and 7th grades. Second, females’ internalization of behavior problems increased more rapidly than those of males. Finally, adolescents with higher levels of perceived academic achievement in the 4th grade had more rapid increases in internalizing behavior problems over time when compared to peers with lower levels of perceived academic achievement. The limitations of the study are noted, and suggestions are made for future research.
