Abstract
We consider the set of n × n idempotent matrices and wecharacterize the linear operators that preserve idempotent matrices overBoolean algebras. We also btain characterizations of linea r operatorsthat preserve idempotent matrices over a chain semiring, the nonegativeintegers and the nonegative reals.
