Abstract
This study empirically analyzes gender microaggressions embedded in the responses generated by three major large language models (LLMs): Naver CLOVA X (South Korea), OpenAI ChatGPT-4.0 (USA), and DeepSeek V3 (China). A total of 100 prompts covering 10 domains, such as the workplace, family, and education, were designed, yielding 300 responses (100 per model). Each response was evaluated using a dual assessment system consisting of an AI-based evaluator (ChatGPT-4.0) and two female PhD-level human experts. Quantitative analyses were conducted using one-sample and paired-sample t-tests, supplemented by qualitative case analysis. Results showed that all three models exhibited statistically significant levels of gender bias, with ChatGPT scoring the lowest (M = 0.796) and DeepSeek the highest (M = 0.968). The correlation between AI and human evaluators was remarkably high (r = 0.688, p < 0.001), although human evaluators demonstrated greater sensitivity to certain cultural and contextual nuances. This study proposes a systematic framework for analyzing LLM bias and emphasizes the importance of culturally grounded mitigation strategies and ethical alignment in AI development.
