Abstract
WPN(Wearable Personal Network) is a very small scale network which is located on a body area and connects various peripheral devices of a wearable computer. Wire-lined WPN is called the FAN(Fabric Area Network). Wire of the FAN is made of conductive yarn and is embedded in the fabric of a cloth. This paper identifies requirement of the FAN and suggests a combined type for the FAN topology. Then it proposes the DPUS interface which supports both the DC PLC and the USB communication. Experimentation performed with a prototype implementation shows that the proposed FAN works well without performance loss.
